Raiffeisen Bank Allocates UAH 10.3 Million to Support Children through the Kids Safe Heaven Programme

According to UNICEF, around 4 million children have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing war. Additionally, a recent audit conducted as part of the mental health programme "How Are You?" revealed that 2.6 million children and adolescents in Ukraine are in need of psychological support.

In response to the scale of these challenges, Raiffeisen Bank launched the Kids Safe Heaven charitable programme in 2023. Its mission is to contribute to the recovery and development of children by providing access to essential needs such as healthcare, education, and safety.

Through the programme, grants of up to UAH 200,000 are awarded for:

  • medical treatment, rehabilitation, medical equipment, and psychological support;
  • educational programmes and training;
  • renovation of schools, kindergartens, and children’s development centres, among others.

A key feature of the programme is its focus on small and remote communities — areas that are often overlooked by large-scale charitable initiatives. Each application is reviewed on an individual basis: the bank’s coordination committee carefully assesses the needs of each community and proposes the most relevant and effective solution.

Results from the first 18 months of the programme:

  • 55 grants successfully implemented
  • UAH 10.3 million allocated
  • Over 700 applications received
  • More than 15 regions across Ukraine reached

Eligible participants include kindergartens, schools, hospitals, children’s homes, dormitories, charitable foundations, and other institutions working with children.

To stay updated on the next wave of applications, follow the official Kids Safe Heaven website and Raiffeisen Bank’s social media channels.
